      NOTE: This suggestion is for JIRA Server. Using JIRA Cloud? See the corresponding suggestion.

      This would help in a couple scenarios:

      • It would provide a way to configure the synchronization process so that it only updates information that actually exists in the LDAP entry.

      Eg. Using 'Internal Directory with LDAP authentication':
      If a user updates their email address in JIRA, next time they authenticate, the value will re-sync with the LDAP server, causing it to be blank.
