      In JIRA 4.3.4:
      The following parameter is working when configure in jira-application.properties file.

      # If this option is set to false, users avatars will no longer be shown anywhere in the UI. This will also disable
# the user hover.

jira.user.avatar.enabled=false

      In JIRA 4.4.x and onwards:
      The following parameter is not working when configure in jira-config.properties file:

      jira.user.avatar.enabled=false

      The configuration is no longer working in JIRA latest version since jira-application.properties has been deprecated after JIRA 4.4.x. It would be great that this function can be revive again.
