Recent performance degradation in Custom Field Sorting

    Description

      A large number of custom fields has historically caused performance problems due to how we implemented custom field sorting. See JRA-25721.

      However, it seems like things have deteriorated further in the recent releases. From an initial investigation with tcampbell, it seems the origin of the recent degradation was the changes to support custom field name translations in JIRA 6.1.
