When creating an issue, there is no validation of Issue Type.

For some reason even though its a number, its stored in the database as a String. For starters, why is that?

Secondly, if you put some complete junk... like "asdjjklsadklsd" (possible via the jelly interface) then it duly shoves that in the database..... and voila, Jira doesnt know its dealing with anymore... and you cannot update/edit the issue.

The only workaround is to go to the jiraissue table, and fix it manually.

Having the db column as number would have caught this...
