IE10 could not access the URL with i#browse

    XMLWordPrintable

Details

    Description

Internet Explorer 10 or IE10 will show a blank page when trying to access a URL with i#browse.

IE8/9 will have the i#browse in its URL when using the quick search for issues. When sharing the URL (instead of the Share feature in JIRA), IE10 users will face problems trying to load the link and will have to manually remove the i# from the URL to get the page to load.

      Tested on JIRA 6.1.4.

Example of a broken URL in IE10:

      http://localhost:8080/i#browse/DEMO-1

      Steps to reproduce

      1. Open IE8/9 and enter an issue key in quicksearch. This will take you to the view issue page and you'll end up wiht a URL like http://localhost:8080/i#browse/DEMO-1
      2. Then copy this URL and paste it into IE10. You'll get a JS error and a blank page.

      Non affected browser

      • Chrome 31
      • Firefox 25
      • IE11
