Advanced search using project name is impossible if the name used is equal to other project's key.

      How to reproduce

      1. Create 2 project with below details:
        • Project name: Awesome | Key: AWE
        • Project name: Awesomeness | Key: AWESOME
      2. Create 1 issue in each project
      3. Go to JIRA advanced search and search below queries(the value is selected from JIRA own suggestion/autocomplete):
        • project = Awesome
        • project = Awesomeness
      4. Both will only show result for project Awesomeness

The only way to search project Awesome is by using key in quote "AWE".

If project Awesomeness is not browsable, JIRA will throw error message for JQL that try to search content for project Awesome using suggested value:

The value 'Awesome' does not exist for the field 'project'.
