We have this note in our Setting Up Trusted Communication between JIRA and Confluence:
Note: It is highly recommended that your JIRA and Confluence instances share a common user base, rather than two separate user bases with duplicated usernames.
When saying it is highly recommended, some customers might get confused, we need to make this note more clear that you can only use trusted authentication between Confluence and JIRA if they share the same user base.
