Before JIRA 5.2.6, if you clone an issue, the links appeared in the wrong way, as stated in the following bug:

This was fixed in JIRA 5.2.6 and now the new links are showing correctly. The problem is the cloned issues made before this upgrade, they will not be fixed after the upgrade and will remain with the wrong association. The best solution for this would be a fix during the upgrade, so the old cloned issues will show the right links.

How to Fix Links in Wrong Direction After Cloning an Issue

[JRASERVER-32341] Wrong links made before JIRA 5.2.6 remains in JIRA

edalgliesh, wouldn't running the SQL mentioned in KB during the upgrade fix this problem?

Also, the resolution is set to 'Fixed'. Could we adjust it?

There's not a lot we can do here that won't exacerbate the problem so I'm closing this as Won't Fix.
