In 5.1, in the new Issue Navigator where what is now called Basic Search was called Simple Search, a user could select from a selection list of components in the same way as issue types, etc.(see attachment). Since the change to the new Issue Navigator in 5.2, component is no longer available in this way. I appreciate that it can be searched for via advanced search but this a problem for 2 reasons:
1. Some users of this system are not that literate and doing things like JQL is possibly a bit beyond them and is going to be error-prone (I will get support calls!). The point of the simple search is to cater for these people and to make life easier for all of us - this doesn't!
2. I do not wish to expose the field names to every user (not so much an issue with component as with other fields (will be raising further related bugs)) and for something as basic as component, this should not be necessary.

A step backwards!
