"Filters Activity Stream" is not compatible with Jira 10 due to all the platform changes. I've not been able to reach the author, and the last published update was a year ago. I'm beginning to think this add-on has been abandoned. Are there any other alternatives?

There is a plugin named "Filters Activity Stream" which does exactly this (and nothing more), it costs USD 0.40 per user, just for that simple feature... That is how Atlassian makes money :X

Now that Jira is venturing into project management areas with the name change from Roadmaps to Timeline, and the addition of Advanced Roadmaps, it makes sense to pick this request back up again. For those of us in PM roles, we can manage multiple projects in JIRA. JIRA's activity stream is very beneficial but the filters are currently very limited.  Yes I can add multiple projects but one of those projects is massive and has multiple PM's assigned to it.  Example I have 5 projects assigned to me. In my activity stream on my dashboard I would need to see all activity from 4 projects, and then filtered where I am the watcher on tickets from the 5th (larger) project.

Jira team, there were over 200 votes on https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/JRASERVER-19155, can we take that into account since these appear to be duplicates?

+1. Filters underpin Project boards, most every other dashboard gadget, and can be the issue source for a Jira Plan.
Please update the Activity Stream gadget to embrace filters!!

This would be great as I want to just see things that happened today which is not possible now. So when I view this activity stream on 2021-11-23, I want to see anything that's updated only on 2021-11-23. With JQL this would be possible.

I want to be able to see the activity for all of the projects I manage in a single feed using JQLfilter and not have to search each one individually. Is there an update on the timeline when this might be available?

The activity stream feature as it stands today is useless. I don't want to see the entire organization's activity. I want to see the activity on issues where I'm involved. That means issues reported by me, watched by me or comments directly tagging me. 

I am disappointed this is not being further considered by Atlassian. As our Jira user base grows, the activity stream becomes more cluttered because I am unable to filter by the right type of activity I want to see. It worked okay when we just had one location using our instance, but now with multiple locations using our instance the activity stream is now rendered useless because I can't filter by any custom fields. This improvement has been identified in 2012 and has 232 votes, can we get an update on where this is at please?

I want to see in activity stream only those activities where I mentioned in the comments. How can I do this?

I agree and echo what was mentioned earlier in the thread: this would prove useful for our organization as it would allow us to filter the activity stream by site / location.

JQL is THE feature in Jira for properly filtering issues depending on a range of needs. I am surprised it still isn't one of the main choices. Leaving out this kind of basic functionality to 3rd party plugins is going to slowly push Jira behind in the competition. I would agree that this stream is actually useless without this feature, which is probably why nobody at my company can ever really rely on it. This is currently only the scent of a reliable feature, and nothing more.

Personal activity stream should have something like this.

When we access SystemDashoard, we should be able to see the activity that happened recently on this name.

Bump!  Need to be able to filter on thinks like 'Assigned user' and 'Watchers include'.

Just found the activity stream and thought it was useful until I saw it had way too much information and not enough granularity in the filtering.

I guess I could create a dozen different Streams to try to see only the info I want, but that sounds less than ideal.

Another good laugh reading through the comments and looking at the timeline for this feature suggestion, definitely shows how nimble and user-centered Atlassian is!

etc etc etc Some features are half baked and others are removed through the years. Each plug will run you like 1 USD / user / month, so atleast 1200 USD+ per year.

So plugin budget if you want Jira to really work is pretty high... Gah! </rant> 

I would also find this very useful to allow users to see only activity for certain filtered issues.

This would be extremely helpful. We have several projects that have teams split by location and the teams have suggested that the ability to have the activity view customized by JQL so that they only have to see stuff applicable to the portion of their team that is at a specific location (location is a custom field) would be very helpful as the split of the team is not only location but functional in the issues they are assigned as well so they do not need to see the activity of all the others in their daily work.

I'm experiencing a reoccurring set of events related to Jira: 

1. I need some pretty darn basic project management functionality, which could be really simple, but it's not
2. I find lots of posts about people having the same kind of issues as me – I'm (sadly) not that special
3. I find suggestions to solutions to my needs in add-ons that 1) cost money, 2) I'm not able to use anyway as I'm working in an enormous organisation that can't buy and install costly add-ons every other day
4. I find some extremely suboptimal solution to my needs, that covers some of the necessary functionality, but some stuff leaves me puzzled. I Google the puzzles, and not surprisingly ...
5. I find Jira suggestions that was posted years ago, no action taken from Atlassian to fullfill the suggestions

Now, related to this particular case: why on earth don't you have this feature? As of today, you have to chose between extremes: 

1. I want activity of an entire project (we have more than 40 k issues in our project). Scope: EXTREMELY WIDE
2. I want activity on one issue. Scope: EXTREMELY NARROW
3. Tighter scope than in 2.

What's the point of an activity stream if you're not able to scope it properly? 

Hi Folks, I really suffer w/o this feature. As a PM I really want to see projects' activities' breakdown among the number of projects to see particular activity streams for each project on any dedicated dashboard. Thanks in advance.

Please implement this. This would be very usefull.

This is particularly in need for cloud users, as we have fewer plug-in options available and the listener function can't be used.

This would a VERY good feature to have. We need an activity feed that can be customized. Especially if there are dozens of people using the same JIRA project and we have certain projects we are implementing that share a JIRA project. Please consider this as a way to streamline our feed. Engineers are asking for this!

I would agree as well. Custom JQL filtering would make this tool a whole lot more useful.

Another vote to add customer filtering to the JIRA Activity Stream gadget. Would be great to be able to filter at the Fix Version level rather than only at the Project level!
