Description
Here are the following steps on how to reproduce this bug:
1. Set up Application Link between JIRA 4.4 or 5.0 and any Confluence higher than 3.5 (Trusted Apps or OAuth authentication are fine)
2. Under one single project in JIRA (e.g: TEST project), try creating a few issues
3. Access to a Confluence page and edit that page
4. Try inserting JIRA Issues Macro by grabbing the XML URL from the JIRA issues:5. Set the Cache to Off
6. Click on 'Refresh' button
7. The JIRA Issues Macro got displayed successfully as per this screen shot:
8. Then, go to JIRA 4.4 User Profile and change the Language to any other Language pack other than English (United States or UK)
9. Go back to the same Confluence page and try to insert JIRA Issues Macro by clicking on 'Refresh' button
10. You will be seeing the following error thrown inside JIRA Issues:Unable to generate JSON output<br/>class java.io.IOException
For Danish (Denmark), Dutch (Belgium), German (Germany), and German (Switzerland) language, it happens intermittently - sometimes success and sometimes fail
Not only JIRA Issues Macro that is having this problem, even inserting a JIRA Macro is also having the same problem. For example:
{jira:project = TEST|server=Your Company JIRA|cache=off}I have tried the same behavior with JIRA 4.3.x against Confluence 3.5.x and this problem does not occur in JIRA 4.3.x. This means that this problem arises only from JIRA 4.4 onwards.
