When I'm creating an issue I'm generally focused on the Description field. Yet JIRA's Create Issue dialog devotes a tiny proportion of screen real estate to this (just 3% on my monitor):

Nor can I resize the textarea horizontally, because the AUI modal dialog box won't resize. In fact no matter what your window size is the dialog box is always the same width, one I would consider to be too narrow.
