Make sure you have user admin.
Enter "Initial: @a" in a comment field. Escape out of the user select.
On a new line enter "Random Text"
On a new line enter [
(BUG) For some reason the user "admin" is suggested (reported in ~~JRA-27636~~)
(BUG) Select "admin". The text between the [ and @a is deleted.

This is shown in delete_mentions2.webm.
