Mention functionality does not work with Google Chrome and Safari

      By typing '@' in a Comment field or Desription field no list of suggested users appears in a dropdown list as described here:
      http://confluence.atlassian.com/display/JIRA/Emailing+an+Issue#EmailinganIssue-mentions

      Nothing happens in this case.

      I have got this problem with the following internet browsers:

      • Google Chrome 17 on Mac OS X
      • Safari 5.0.6 on Mac OS X
