Remove status from workflow

Hi All,

I have specific problem: a status was added to a workflow which is used by more than 15 workflow scheme. The problem is that this status is unwanted. It would be no problem as for me because it's an orphan status, so users can't see but our JIRA admin leader said this status has to be removed from the workflow. Because this workflow is used by more than 15 workflow schemes and these WF schemes are involved up to 40 projects - you know already - it would be an enormous effort to change the WF, WF scheme...
Is there any jelly script for removing this step? This status is not used by any project.
