When a user tried to create an issue, manually typing in the due date field, he typed it in the standard US format (MM/DD/YY), which is unrecognized by JIRA. The issue was refused by the system and the page reloaded, but there wasn't an error indicating a problem with the date format. In the end, we used the date picker window to get the right format and everything worked out.
