Description
NOTE: This suggestion is for JIRA Server. Using JIRA Cloud? See the corresponding suggestion.
This was suggested by a customer recently:
The installer should have an option to set Jira up in a test environment on the same server and not disable the current instance.
This would make sense allowing the user to choose a port (other than 8080) for the installer to customise in server.xml. Currently nowhere does it allow for me to choose this:
sudo ./atlassian-jira-5.0-beta1-x64.bin Password: Unpacking JRE ... Starting Installer ... This will install JIRA 5.0-beta1 on your computer. OK [o, Enter], Cancel [c] Choose the appropriate installation or upgrade option. Please choose one of the following: Express Install (use default settings) [1], Custom Install (recommended for advanced users) [2], Upgrade an existing JIRA installation [3, Enter] 1 The following default options cannot be used. You will be asked to provide alternatives for these options. * Installation Directory (Existing installation directory) * Home Directory (Existing home directory) Where should JIRA 5.0-beta1 be installed? [/opt/atlassian/jira] /home/michael/deleteme Default location for JIRA data [/var/atlassian/application-data/jira] /home/michael/deleteme1 See where JIRA will be installed and the settings that will be used. Installation Directory: /home/michael/deleteme Home Directory: /home/michael/deleteme1 HTTP Port: 8080 RMI Port: 8005 Install as service: Yes Install [i, Enter], Exit [e] e Finishing installation ...
