Atlassian Update – 06-02-2019

Hi everyone,

We have recently reviewed this issue and the overall interest in the problem.
The bug is is in a legacy feature that was kept for compatibility reasons. We do not plan to make further investments in the feature, given that overall customer interest is very low.

That's why we've decided to resolve the issue as Won't Fix.

Although we're aware the issue is still important to those of you who were involved in the conversations around it, we want to be clear in managing your expectations. The Jira team is focusing on issues that have broad impact and high value, reflected by the number of comments, votes, support cases, and customers interested. Please consult the Atlassian Bugfix Policy for more details.

We understand how disappointing this decision may be, but we hope you'll appreciate our transparent approach and communication.
Atlassian will continue to watch this issue for further updates, so please feel free to share your thoughts in the comments.

Issue Summary

If you have a Post Function in your workflow that sets the remaining estimate to zero, and have a post function that will clear the remaining estimate to zero, it will change the original estimate to zero too.

Steps to Reproduce

Switch to Legacy Time Tracking Mode
Add a Post Function to your projects workflow that will set just the remaining estimate to 0m, not the original estimate.
Create a new issue with an Original Estimate of 5h
Close the issue and log 1 hour of work on the close screen, automatically adjust remaining estimate.

Expected Results

Isue will be closed with a an Original Estimate of 5h.

Actual Results

It will now have a Original Estimate of 0m.

Workaround

Create the issue, log work and as a separate step close the issue.
