JIRA has a feature that allows you to put a custom HTML message at the top of every JIRA page. This is good, and I use it to notify users of problems with, or changes to, JIRA that will affect them. It would be great if these banners were then dismissable by the user (click an 'x') so they don't see it again. Then if the banner changes, it will re-appear.
Such a feature would be a better way of keeping users up to date with potentially fast changing scenarios. For example, if there are 3 problems with JIRA, and one is solved, then the banner can be changed, and the user will get the update. As it is, all I can do is change the text, or change the colour of the banner. If the user has had the banner on every page for a while, they will start to ignore it, and won't notice small changes.
