It's possible for crowd directory attributes such as the LDAP filter string to exceed 255 chars. However, we currently restrict the directory attribute column length for compatibility with indexing requirements for MySQL.

Currently, the suggested workaround is to manually increase the column length for the cwd_directory_attribute table, but a more sustainable solution needs to be reached.
