I've confirmed this bug through this ticket: https://support.atlassian.com/browse/JSP-71025

It is easily reproduceable: In any issue, go in Log Work, and in the Work Description, put a text containing carriage returns. Although the "Preview" button renders the text correctly, one you input the text, and go into the ticket, under Work Log tab, the text replaces Carriage Returns for spaces.

Could reproduce this behaviour in both 4.2.1 and 4.2.2.
