Enable copy on clone links for SubTasks to its originator across cloned parent issues

We have an issue type called test set template that can contain subtasks (Test Case Subtasks) that are cloned in from a Test Case issue type
When the test team design test set templates they;

1. Create a Test Set Template, refer to it as TestSetTemplate_1

2. issue action "Clone" & "Convert to Subtask" on an existing Test Case into TestSetTemplate_1 - Works OK, Cloned links preserved between the subtasks
and its originating Test Case

3. Sometimes already created TestSet Templates are reused and cloned to new TestSet Template (let's refer to it as "TestSetTemplate_2") and then additonal test cases might be added/removed - Expected Result: Want all the contained subtasks in TestSetTemplate_2 to presevere it's cloned links to it's originating Test Cases (As for TestSetTemplate_1), this doesn not work today, all cloned links are lost for all subtasks in TestSetTemplate_2
