In IE the project/filter gadget dropdown shows too much whitespace

Also when you select a filter it shows up with strange green background and letters like 'g' are cutoff at the bottom. Other browsers don't show whitespace, green background nor cutoff characters.

IE7 & IE8 only (IE9 ok)
