Control characters not removed from XML export

      If a control character such as ^[ (eg. from an ANSI colour escape sequence) is pasted into a JIRA issue description, this causes the JIRA backups to contain invalid XML. Invalid as in not well-formed XML – JIRA seems to import and export this XML without problems.
