Unable to build JIRA 4.1.2 from source as documented

I try to build JIRA 4.1.2 from the source distribution to apply some custom patches.

I read the documentation at http://confluence.atlassian.com/display/JIRA/Building+JIRA+from+Source and followed the given instructions.

It is not possible to build 4.1.2 with Maven 1, but with Maven 2.

Please update the page or let me know, how to build without any errors JIRA from scratch.
