It would be really great if we could have the ability to 'soft delete' an issue with the ability to retrieve it in the future if we need to. I would expect that this would work much like the 'Delete' feature within Confluence where there is a trash can that can be emptied by an Administrator.

I'm a big believer in trusting the team and keeping the system open to allow people do what they need while doing their work, but sometimes things happen and issues can get lost. If we knew we had the ability to retrieve issues after soft deleting them it would be very helpful and would keep us from having to restrict the issue permissions.

[JRASERVER-21831] Allow Soft Delete of Issues

            Thanks Matthew.

At this time we do not plan to implement this into JIRA.
You can might be able to create your own plugin that does this and our local Atlassian partners will be able to help.

I'll close this in the mean time to keep things tidy on our end.
If we ever look into your request again I'll be sure to reopen this issue.
            Thanks again for your suggestion.

            Cheers,
            Roy
