      1. "Priority" combobox renders icons and text too close together. The "blocker" icon and text look like they overlap one pixel.
      2. There is non-clickable space between the Component combo-box arrow and the border that surrounds the text field. I expect there to be no space.
      3. I am not sure I like the new Component combo-box as input. Specifically, I am concerned that selecting and deselecting multiple items is slower. I cannot select multiple components at once (I have to open the combo-box multiple times) and clicking the tiny "x" one at a time is also very slow. The old approach was very keyboard friendly.
      4. If you decide to keep the current combo-box approach I suggest changing the combo-box into a "+" arrow since the box only adds items, not replace the existing values.

            [JRASERVER-21806] Feedback for combo boxes

            Gili added a comment -

            For what it's worth, I'm still not happy with the loss of ability to select multiple items at once. When I file a feature request that affects all components I am now forced to select them one at a time as opposed to selecting them all at once.

            It's not the end of the world, but please consider addressing this shortcoming.

            I think, this issue can be closed because of the release of JIRA 4.2.

            Kind regards

            Thanks Holger,

            We're aware of the issue but have not yet finalised a fix for them.

            The problem is still there even in JIRA 4.2 beta. I have tested also with Firefox 3.6.8 on Windows XP. It still looks like shown in screenshot.png in Create Issue and also in Edit Issue screen.

            As you can see in priority_layout_problems.png, there is a layout problem in priority. I am using MacOS X 10.6.4 with Firefox 3.6.8 german.

            The funny thing is, that layout of issue type is fine as you can see in priority_layout_problems.png.

            I found the same problem on my Mac OS with Firefox.

            @Chris,
            The control should allow you to multi-select with the keyboard (try ctrl-enter). However, point taken that this isn't as easy as it can be. We'll work with the designers to see what we can come up with.

            @Gili,
            Thanks for the screenshot. We'll look into it. I've removed the ".jpg" attachment.

            As for multi selection with mouse - using ctrl+LMB should work. Shift doesn't yet, but that's a good point and we'll take that feedback to the team.

            Edwin,

            Please delete the ".jpg" attachment.

            1. I am running FireFox 3.6.6 under Windows 7 64-bit.
            3. The keyboard shortcuts you describe sound great. My main concern is multi-select (as Chris describes). We should be able to use CTRL+LMB or SHIFT+LMB to select multiple items at once.
