I'd like to be able to update/upgrade Jira from within the application. Most application (including webapplication) have the ability to update from within the application. This would save as a lot of time because we now have to do a complete Jira installation, configure a lot of settings and add several plugins. Needles to say that this is very time consuming (thus gives a lot of downtime), and is not failure proof. Having the ability to update from within the application would fix this.

BTW I can understand that upgrading between major versions might be a problem, but upgrades, say from 4.0.1 to 4.0.2, should be possible (I think ).
