Description
I have a.. thing about URI spaces. They ought to be clean, user-hackable, bookmarkable, extension-free, ReST-friendly. JIRA's URLs are none of the these. It is not possible to bookmark "the issue tracker for project X" without embedding some horribly brittle project ID:
http://jira.atlassian.com/secure/BrowseProject.jspa?id=10470
Instead, we could have:
http://jira.atlassian.com/browse/confluence
And linking to individual bugs; instead of:
http://jira.atlassian.com/secure/ViewIssue.jspa?key=JRA-563
Why couldn't we just have:
http://jira.atlassian.com/JRA-563
or:
http://jira.atlassian.com/jira/563
For more indoctrination along these lines, see:
