The "subtasks" view in a parent task is handy b/c it summarizes the list of subtasks, their status, and remaining time to completion. The undesired limitations are that the subtasks must be in the same project, and they must be of a subtask type.
We typically have issues in one project (a customization project) that depend on issues in another project (a platform or library project). Ideally we want to "file" the issue in the correct project, but have been resorting to cloning the issue in both projects and manually updating both. It would be swell if we could obtain a similar view to the subtasks view, but using issues from other projects.
Two implementation ideas are enabling a panel summarizing status and time remaining for the issues linked via outgoing links; or a new type of issue field that can contain issues from other projects, and which displays the summary of the other issues.
