User dropdown link doesn't work when user click "Yes" to stop running the script in IE 7.0

Steps:

1. I have got this issue while testing with customer data at https://support.atlassian.com/browse/JSP-39999
2. Login as toursadmin. The user has preferences set for viewing 1000 issues per page in issue naviagtor.
3. Run a query which return large number of issues. I executed "issuetype in ("Analyst Task","Bug sub-task",CTR,standardIssueTypes())"
4. Try to perform sorting on any column.

Result:
1. After sometime user gets a message saying that "A script runing....." and a "yes" and "no" option. If user click "Yes" to stop the script, and now try to access the user drop down in top right corner, nothing happens.
2. The link is pointed to the sort link of last sorted column.

Expected:
1. The user dropdown should be working without any issues
