There's a lot of white space in most of the gadgets, both legacy and new. Specifically, you could reclaim about 1cm back at the bottom of each gadget, just by moving the edit/refresh controls into the header. I'm all for "breathing room" and good UX designs, but this just leaves gaping holes.
