When using JIRA for the first time, I could not initially work out how to get back to the issues list (filter results) from an issue details page. The browser's Back button usually works, but not if you've done something which involves a form submission. It took some time to realise that the "Find Issues" link was what I needed - I had assumed that that was a general search facility, not related to filters.
I suggest finding a way of displaying a more prominent "return to issues list" link (the 'breadcrumbs' idea mentioned elsewhere might help).
