With most Windows-based applications it is possible to specify in the configuation settings whether a document opens in the same window or in a new window, but this does not seem to be possible with Jira. Consequently I frequently open an attachment to read it, then close the attachment (as I would with a normal Word document or Excel spreadsheet), only to find I have closed my Jira session too!

This can be very annoying, especially when you are looking for a specific enhancement or defect log and you have been using searches, as you have then lost your place.
