Show attachments in a different window or tab

All attachments when clicked on, open the attachment in the same browser window.
Is it possible to view or show an attachment in a new browser window or a new tab as in IE7 or FireFox.
It is bit time consuming to right click on the attachment and then select the option of viewing the attachment in a new tab or window more so when they are multiple attachments that have to be viewed simultaneously.
I am not certain if there is a setting for this which can be applied for my Jira login alone or this improvement has already been taken care of in the latest version.
