NEW FEATURE : Export to Excel to create 1 Mastersheet and extra worksheets with detailed bug reports (including images and attachments)

    • We collect Jira feedback from various sources, and we evaluate what we've collected when planning our product roadmap. To understand how this piece of feedback will be reviewed, see our Implementation of New Features Policy.

This is a feature request for exporting filtered issues into a more usable report.

When exporting a list of issues to excel, a number of our customers we scrub with do not have access to the Jira server we use.
Due to this, images and links to issues are invalid and are required to be added manually. This is very time consuming.

The suggestion would be to have an export option that will

      a) Create a front or master page that displays the fields set up by your customised filters
      b) An extra worksheet/tab is created for each issue, with every detail of the bug, including images or log files embedded
      c) The master page links for the issues will reference to the specific worksheet

if an export in PDF format is acceptable, our JIRA PDF View Plugin can export your issue along with their attachments and images into custom PDF documents.

            Hi Martin,

MS Excel is not a very good format for exporting rich data. SInce JIRA 3.7 JIRA is able to export filter results to MS Word. I get the feeling that MS Word is better suited for the delivery of what you are after.

At the moment, images are note exported. The feature request for exporting images is JRA-10156.

Please vote for JRA-10156 and add youself as a watcher to the issue. For more information on the way new feature and improvement requests are scheduled, please see:

The feature request for allowing users to configure what gets exported by the Excel and Word views is JRA-12062.

I am not sure if it is possible to add other binary or text attachments to Excel or Word. However, if it is, please add a comment to JRA-10156.

As we are more likely to add thsi functionality to MS Word export, I will resolve this issue. I think JRA-10156 is the right issue to track this enhancement.

            Cheers,
            Anton
