We have email notifications switched on for our live version of JIRA. If you watch an issue then you receive an email each time somebody comments on that issue. This email contains information about the issue including the comment that was added. This is great as it allows people to keep up to date with an issue without having to log into JIRA. However, we have found that watchers that do not have the group security privileges to view comments in JIRA will still receive an email with the comment. Is there a way to avoid this other than turning off email alerts for watchers or amending the email template so that no comments are sent in emails?
Thanks
