We get lots of requests to create new projects, "configured in the same way as project X". For the various schemes this is not much trouble, although a "clone project" feature wouldn't go amiss.

Setting up the custom fields though is a royal pain. We have x custom fields, of which a project might use up to 20. This means clicking through each custom field and adding the new project as a context. This alone is dangerous, as it's easy to deselect existing projects if you are not familiar with it. Because you need to hold the control key it means you cannot type the first letter(s) in IE anyway, so it's a manual and tedious process.

I suggest a "custom field scheme", where you can say these issues types are associated with these fields, and then simply associate the scheme with the project.

This is related to the linked issue but I didn't think the linked issue was that clear (no offence).
