Provide versioning of attachments similar to Confluence

One of our support came up with a "jira would be even better if" suggestion for flagging attachments as obsolete and/or versioning of attachments (similar to confluence).

The problem comes from wishing to attach updated files to a ticket which replace/obsolete existing files, but without loosing those original files either.

The current process seems to be:

      1 - Attach somefile.doc
      2 - Attach somefile2.doc
      3 - Attach somefile3.doc

This leads to having a support person having to hunt for the "current" version of the attachment when working on the ticket.

It would be great if Jira supported versioned attachments in a fashion similar to confluence, whereby if you upload an attachment with a duplicate file name, the file replaces the original attachment and only the most recent copy is (initially) displayed for access.
