Some users are interested in generating a visual representation of their custom workflow. Since JIRA workflows can be exported to XML, it would be useful to point users to suitable XML rendering tools in the JIRA workflow documentation at http://www.atlassian.com/software/jira/docs/v3.10.1/workflow.html

Two tools that can be used are:
1. Graphviz from http://www.graphviz.org/
2. OSWorkflow GUI Designer from http://www.opensymphony.com/osworkflow/ and documented at http://www.opensymphony.com/osworkflow/4.%20GUI%20Designer.html is an alternative but it may not format the representation as well as Graphviz

Edit: While JIRA can import workflows from XML, the documentation should also warn users only to use the tools for viewing since editing workflows outside of JIRA is problematic - see Anton's comment below for details.
