Every JIRA user should see his assigned project roles in his profile view

      NOTE: This suggestion is for JIRA Server. Using JIRA Cloud? See the corresponding suggestion.

      A 'normal' JIRA user doesn't have the "view project roles" in his profile - just the administrators. It would be very helpfull if every user has the ability to see his project role assignments.

            Due to the large volume of JIRA feature suggestions, we have to prioritise our development efforts. In part, that means concentrating on those issues that resonate the most with our users.

            I am writing this note to advise you, that we have decided to close your Suggestion as it has not gained traction on jira.atlassian.com. We believe being upfront and direct with you will assist you in your decision making rather than believing Atlassian will eventually address this issue.

            JRA-11611 is another request to allow searching for users by project role which would be very useful in addition to this.

            This is a good idea.

            I think we would need to make it a separate screen as getting role membership for a user could be a bit expensive (will need to profile to fine out). We would provide a link to this screen from the user's profile page.
