I maintain an application which contains links for users to raise support tickets in JIRA.

According to http://confluence.atlassian.com/display/JIRA/Creating+Issues+via+direct+HTML+links I should be able to direct my users directly to http://<jira host>:8080/secure/CreateIssueDetails!init.jspa to submit a ticket. However, while I know what project they wish to raise the ticket against, if I do not know what Issue Type they wish to enter, I cannot populate the query string correctly. I have compromised and linked to this page directly so that they must manually select the project and Issue Type. Which works, if they are logged in. If they are not logged in, instead of being directed to the login page, they get the error as listed in the attached screenshot, "You have not selected a valid project to create an issue in." I would have thought that the user would instead be directed to a login page.
