Issue Summary
In the modernized issue creation modal (GIC), searching for a version in a version picker field (e.g., Fix Versions or a single-version custom field) may return "No options" even if a matching version exists.
Root Cause:
The version search API matches both version names and descriptions. In environments with a large number of versions, if more than 50 versions contain the search string within their description (e.g., "masterazure"), these results fill the first page of the API response.
The modernized picker currently only fetches the first 50 results. If the exact name match (e.g., "Master") exists on a subsequent page of the API results, the picker fails to retrieve it. Because the picker then filters the first 50 results locally by name and finds no match, it incorrectly displays "No options".
Steps to Reproduce
- Ensure "Simple create as default" is enabled in Jira System Settings.
- Create a project where >50 versions have a specific string (e.g., "master") in their description field.
- Create a version named exactly "Master".
- Open the Create modal and search for "Master" in a version picker field.
- Result: The picker shows "No options".
Expected Results
The picker should show the Version "Master"
Actual Results
The picker shows "No options".

Workaround
Disable "Simple create as default" to use the classic create screen, which correctly retrieves all pages of search results.
