Accessibility
Issue Summary
Tab navigation has incorrect focus handling.
Steps to Reproduce
- Open the Jira/JSM homepage.
- Navigate to the Sidebar, expand "Spaces", and open any space.
- Navigate to the "List" link, activate it, and open any work item from the data table.
- Using a screen reader and keyboard, navigate to the "Default," "Test Details," or "A11y Test" tab within the tab list.
- Press the Right Arrow key to navigate to the next tab.
- Observe that the next tab is selected, but focus unexpectedly moves to another location on the page.
Screen Recording
Actual Results
When users navigate between the "Default", "Test Details", and "A11y Test" tabs and press the Right Arrow key to move to the next tab, the next tab is selected correctly; however, programmatic focus unexpectedly moves to a different location on the page instead of remaining on the newly selected tab. This results in inconsistent focus behavior and prevents keyboard and screen reader users from navigating the tab list effectively.
Expected Results
Keyboard navigation should follow standard accessibility behavior, allowing users to move focus and navigate between tabs using appropriate keys without unexpected focus shifts.
Apply the following changes:
- When focus is on the tablist, pressing the Left/Right Arrow keys should move focus between "Default", "Test Details", and "A11y Test" tabs within the same tablist.
- Focus should remain within the tablist when using arrow key navigation.
- Focus should only move out of the tablist when the Tab key is used.

Workaround
Currently there is no known workaround for this behavior. A workaround will be added here when available
