The "Copy work item layout" button (also referred to as "Copy to Other Projects") is no longer appearing in the Jira Cloud issue layout editor for users, including Jira admins.

Behaviour

• The button previously appeared in the issue layout editor under Project Settings > Issue types > [type] > Layout

• It is no longer visible regardless of project configuration or admin permissions

• This affects both the "Copy work item layout" button and the "Copy to Other Projects" option

Impact

• Jira admins who manage multiple projects with consistent layouts relied on this feature for efficient project setup and maintenance

• Multiple customers have reported this within a short period

• At least one customer has flagged this as a migration blocker

What is known

• The disappearance coincided with recent Jira Cloud changes but has been confirmed by engineering to be unrelated to the NFA (New Field Association) rollout — the button is absent even with NFA disabled

• Root cause is currently under investigation by the Jira Cloud engineering team
