The Individual Capacity Planning view in Jira Cloud currently displays resource capacity and workload on a fixed weekly basis. There is no option to change the timeline granularity to a different interval.
We'd like the ability to customize the timeline granularity in the Capacity Planning view beyond the current fixed weekly view. Specifically:
Monthly Granularity:
We would like to use the Capacity Planning view to visualize resource allocation, capacity, and workload trends on a monthly basis rather than by week. This would help with higher-level resource planning and longer-term workload trend analysis.
Custom Sprint Cadence Alignment:
Organizations using non-standard sprint durations (e.g., 3-week sprints) need the ability to define dates precisely. For example:
- Define a start date and end date for the first iteration
- Have the cadence automatically align for all subsequent iterations
- Adjust granularity to match the actual sprint length (e.g., 3 weeks)
In its current state, the module is not usable for organizations with custom cadences, forcing teams to rely on workarounds to manage their planning process.
