Summary
When editing Target Start or Target End date fields in Jira Plans (timeline/list view), the calendar date picker no longer auto-navigates to the month of the existing saved or rolled-up date. Instead, it always opens at the current month, requiring users to manually scroll to the correct date. This was previously supported in Jira Data Center / Server Advanced Roadmaps.
Steps to Reproduce
- Open a Plan in Jira Cloud (timeline or list view) with an Epic that has a rolled-up or manually set Target Start/End date (e.g., April 2026)
- Click on the Target Start or Target End date field to open the calendar picker
Expected Results
The calendar should open navigated to the month of the existing date value (e.g., April 2026), allowing quick verification and selection of nearby dates, basically revert this update: UXISSUE-827
Actual Results
The calendar always opens at the current month (e.g., July 2026) regardless of the existing date value. The user must manually scroll back to find and verify the correct date.
Workaround
Currently there is no known workaround for this behavior. A workaround will be added here when available.
