Issue Summary

Some Jira boards using query-based swimlanes can enter a state where the default swimlane for “other work items” is missing.

When this happens, users may experience the following problems:

• Reordering swimlanes fails with an error.
• Switching swimlane settings away from query-based swimlanes and back again does not resolve the issue

Steps to Reproduce

1. Step 1 : Navigate to a swimlane
2. Step 2: Try to reorder the swimlanes

Expected Results

Users should be able to reorder query-based swimlanes successfully. Jira should maintain the default “other work items” swimlane and save the updated swimlane order without errors.

Actual Results

When users try to reorder swimlanes, Jira shows the following error:

“We couldn't reorder your swimlanes. Refresh the page and try again.”

Refreshing the page and trying again does not resolve the issue for the affected board.

Workaround

Currently there is no known workaround for this behavior. A workaround will be added here when available
