Problem
"Your weekly update" (Project Recap) email's "Check on X work items without updates" section causes user confusion because:
Misleading header text — The current wording ("without updates in the last 28 days") implies the issue hasn't been updated by anyone for 28 consecutive days. In reality, the logic surfaces items the assigned user hasn't personally actioned since their most recent assignment.
No per-item context — Users cannot tell why a specific item was surfaced or how long it's been since the qualifying assignment event.
Current Impact
- Users see recently updated issues flagged as "stale,"
- Users waste time investigating whether their data is incorrect
Suggestion:
| # | Suggestion | Rationale |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Reword section header to reflect actual logic (e.g., "Work items assigned to you that you haven't actioned yet") | Removes the false impression that no one has touched the item for 28 days |
| 2 | Show per-item day count (e.g., "Assigned to you 12 days ago no update from you since") | Gives immediate context on why each item is listed |
| 3 | Clarify re-assignment behavior note when an item was re-assigned, or don't reset the clock if user already actioned it | Prevents confusion when items reappear after re-assignment |
