Issue Summary

When creating a linked issue from a JSM work item to a Jira Software project via Link work items → Create linked work item, Jira shows the old legacy create screen and, although attachments are copied to the new issue, any attachments referenced in the description appear as “preview unavailable” instead of rendering correctly.

Steps to Reproduce

1. In a Jira Service Management project, open any work item (request) that has:
2. At least one attachment in the Description field (for reproducibility).
3. On that JSM work item, click Link work items.
4. In the link dialog, select Create linked work item.
5. In the create screen that opens:

• Note that the UI is the old/legacy issue create page (not the new create experience).
• Select a Jira Software project as the target project.
• Ensure the Copy attachments option is checked/enabled (if available).
• Optionally change other fields (summary, description etc.).

1. Click Create to create the linked work item.
2. After creation:

• Open the newly created Jira Software work item.
• Inspect:
• The Attachments section.
• The Description field.
• The preview of any copied attachments.

Expected Results

• The new issue create experience should be used for creating the linked work item, consistent with Jira Cloud UI.

• When Copy attachments is enabled:

• • Attachments from the JSM work item should be:

• Available under the Attachments section of the new issue, and
  Correctly referenced and rendered in the Description (if the original description contained them).

• Attachment previews in the description should be fully visible (no “preview unavailable”).

Actual Results

• The old/legacy create issue screen is shown when creating the linked work item, even when a Jira Software project is selected.

• After clicking Create:

• • Attachments are copied to the Attachments section of the new Jira Software issue.

• • However, they are not properly copied into the Description:

• • • The description shows entries for these attachments with “preview unavailable” instead of a valid preview.
    • The embedded attachments in description are effectively broken.

Workaround

We need to copy/paste the original description from one work item to another.
